Weatherspoon Art Museum
The Anne and Benjamin Cone Building
The Building is named for Anne and Benjamin Cone who made the first generous contribution to start the building. In addition, the local community raised $1.5 million. The State of North Carolina matched the private donations. The building cost, including furnishings: $7.5 million.
The Building design is by the internationally recognized Italian architect, Romaldo Giurgola. Among his many designs is the House of Parliament in Australia, which is considered the architectural feat of the century.

The building has 46,000 square feet; the main gallery is 5,500 square feet. The building houses the UNCG Art History Department as well as the Weatherspoon Art Museum Staff. The Weatherspoon Art Museum has seven galleries.

Thanks! The picture will make it _much_ easier to find for those of us unfamiliar with the museum.
